while i was in a mine i had 1 iron pickaxe and 2 stone pickaxes. After i mined gold with iron pickaxe i switched to stone pickaxe in order to mine iron ore. When i started mining, it turned into iron pickaxe... Dunnoh if this information is useful in any way.
